Declan is a passionate freelance Lighting and Vision Designer from Melbourne, Australia. He started his career in late 2011 where he was first involved in amateur theatre. Since then, Declan has worked with numerous companies both professional and non-professional in over 150 productions.

In 2015 Declan graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts majoring in production under the mentorship of many industry professionals. His involvement with the college saw him touring both regional and interstate as a Lighting Designer and Technical Manager.

Declan recently made his debut in commercial theatre working as Lighting Operator and acting Production Electrician on Avenue Q. Declan has since been involved in shows including: ‘Kinky Boots Australia’, ‘Disney’s Aladdin the Musical’, ‘My Fair Lady’, ‘Paris- A Rock Odyssey’ and ‘Beautiful: The Carole King Musical’.


Declan has been working for Moving Light Productions for over 6 years and has seen him involved in many theatrical shows across Australia in many roles from operating to designing and acting as head of department.

In 2017, Partnering with Nick Glen, Declan co-founded ArcLight Productions, a production company that provides Lighting and vision Design, Technical Management, Stage Management and Drafting paperwork.
Recent designs include: Sweet charity, Catch me if you can, Starbound, Xanadu, 42nd Street and the Wiz (Lighting Design). The Little Mermaid, Hairspray, Fame and Godspell (Vision Design).
